On a winter evening three of us found themselves chatting about this and that. We talked about family, work but above all about crypto and the idea of doing something extraordinary.

An evening like many others, which should have ended laughing with the last glass in hand, but… there was something different in the air, it was raining heavily outside, the news on television announced the arrival of a sudden weather event caused by the ongoing climate change. It was at that point that one of us uttered, without giving it too much emphasis, the sentence: “We must find a way to remember that the world is one, that the climate is changing and that rain or sun make a difference”.

That evening we said goodbye as always, but perhaps from that moment one of NALI’s most important innovations began to take shape. The following night, three thoughts kept turning in our heads: weather, crypto, innovation.

The weather has been a topic that has been studied for many years all over the world, the weather forecasts constantly affect our daily life. If it is a bit cloudy, we look at the weather forecast to decide whether to bring an umbrella or not. Before booking a vacation, we look at the weather forecast. Before organizing a barbecue, we look at the weather forecast.

A fascinating aspect of the weather is that each territory has different meteorological aspects, in constant evolution and determined by constantly evolving climate change. After various brainstormings with the team, the 100 events were born, as they are known now. The pillars of the orignal idea have remained: randomness, information and atmospheric events.

After this premise on their origin, I can present the functioning of the 100 events and their reason.

In a single mechanism we have decided to combine two important concepts of the crypto world: the burn and the airdrop of a token. Both operations are intended to strengthen a user’s will to keep a token in his wallet. The burn allows you to have an ever higher percentage of the supply of a token, the second to increase the number of tokens in your wallet. Most of the time, these operations are exploit for token manipulation by some, for this reason we have chosen to insert the element of randomness.

When the token is activated, there will be 100 events over time that will determine airdrops and burns, but no one, not even the developers, are aware of what will happen. This means that developers or large whales cannot organize manipulations on the event. All the random choices of the project are based on random numbers provided by the external service random.org.

Each event will be activated at a random distance from the previous one which varies between 5 and 48 hours. The exact time of start of the event will be made public 60 minutes before (approximately) the activation of the event.

We decided to make it public for two reasons:

• ensure transparency;

• avoid manipulation by developers.

Once the 60-minute countdown has been activated, everyone can make their own choices and everyone plays on equal terms. It is certain that something is about to happen, but no one can know what.

At time X another random process will be activated to check the weather situation in five places of the world according to the following rules:

• use the provider openweathermap.org which provides the weather situation of over xxxx cities in the world divided into xxxx countries;

• random draw to select a nation;

• five random extractions between the cities of the nation identified to check the weather situation at that precise moment.

Once all the information has been collected, the system decides whether to perform a burn or an airdrop of the token based on the majority of weather situations in the five cities.

The rules used for the calculation are:

• thunderstorm, drizzle, rain, snow and clear result in an airdrop

• atmosphere and clouds leads to a burn

The desire for transparency has led us to develop a telegram bot where each user can be informed, in real time, of the start of the 60-minute countdown and of the process of determining the result of the event. This information can be found on the website and on social networks.

The 100 events process will accompany the first weeks of the token’s life in which we want to make our community aware of the weather conditions all over the world: a first step to raise awareness of climate change!
